Prototype Collective is a boutique rental house in Los Angeles, run by a Local 600 cinematographer. We built our gear for our own projects, so everything is maintained with precision and care—not just checked off a list.

We’re small by design. That means no layers of approval, no runaround— just direct communication and flexible support. Whether you’re scaling up for a commercial or keeping it lean for an indie, we adapt to fit your workflow.

Because we’re working camera crew ourselves, we understand production needs from the inside out. And if there’s something we don’t carry, we’ll source it through partner houses at pro rates — no fluff.
